“Zip, Bang, Pop! Run! It’s The Cops!: Contemporary Pop Art and it’s influence on Street Art” National Invitational Exhibition
The Pop Art movement which emerged in Britain and the United States during the mid- to late-1950s, is that of comics, of bright silkscreen prints, of nostalgia… It later became a strong influence on graffiti artists and street artists, from Banksy to Mr. Brainwash and so many more. You can now find pop art influences in murals all across the country. This exhibition will give you a taste of some of my personal favorite aspiring and mid-career pop artists and street artists. I hope you enjoy the zips, bangs and pops.
